Partners

Partner program

Refer businesses or sell as an agent. Every partner earns on published terms and follows the same rules we do.

Ways to partner

Ways to work with us.

The earnings below are the terms we propose. Your signed partner agreement states the terms you get.

Partner typeWhat you doHow you earnWhat it takes
Referral partnerIntroduce businesses with your link. No selling, no pricing.20% of Candor's net revenue from each merchant you refer, for 24 monthsA short agreement. You use Candor's links and materials only.
AgentSell and support merchants under a signed agent agreement.50% of Candor's net revenue from each merchant, for as long as they process with us and you're in good standingA background check. You quote only the published prices or prices we approve.
ISONot offered yet. Candor's merchants process through Stripe, so there's no boarding under an ISO's own registration. Not yetAsk us about agent terms in the meantime.

Net revenue is what Candor keeps after Stripe's fees and other processing costs. Losses and dispute costs from a partner's merchants are recovered from that partner's earnings.

Partner rules

The rules every partner follows.

Breaking one ends the partnership. Merchants see these rules too, so they know what to expect from you.

  • Never promise approval

Only Candor and Stripe decide. Say "they'll review it", never "you're approved".

  • Never collect sensitive data

No card numbers, ID documents, Social Security numbers or bank details by email, chat or text. Merchants give them to Stripe in its own secure forms, on their Candor account page.

  • Never board a prohibited business

Nothing from the "Never" list in the merchant rules, and nothing in a "Not yet" category.

  • Never split a business

One business, one account. Spreading a business across accounts to hide volume or disputes breaks card network rules.

  • Say who you are

Tell every merchant you're an independent partner of Candor Payments, and that you're paid for referrals. Quote only published or approved prices.

  • Report complaints fast

Pass on any merchant complaint within one business day.

Who it suits

Good partners for Candor.

  • Agencies and consultants

Web, marketing and ecommerce agencies whose clients ask which processor to use.

  • Software companies

Platforms that want payments inside their product. Each business you serve has its own Candor account, and with its API key your software can create its checkouts, invoices and plans and get its webhooks: see the API docs. Ask us about revenue share.

  • Accountants and bookkeepers

Advisers who see their clients' processing statements and spot fees nobody can explain.

  • Payments professionals

Agents who want a simple, published offer to bring to online merchants.
